This will be a temporary website/blog for my practice in Chile.

Our studio is situated in Santiago city.
Right in between cerro San Cristobal and the Mapocho River.
Two blocks away from our school of architecture
and Costanera Norte
(the new inner city privatized motorway)

We are trying to find a name for the studio. So far we picked the simplest solution.
Just our names and see what happens.

So Lipthay_Morande_Browne was born a few months ago. Although, Pato and Sebastian have been working since December last year building two houses and designing one more for a holiday development in the south. These houses in Villarica Lake, near to an active volcano, are both a formal and material experimentation. This is a mixed structure of steel and timber. Using traditional vernacular technology and industrialized components. Pitched roofs, timber tiles for exterior skin and rigid steel frames instead of wood.















Also,last Tuesday we finished a competition for the extension of a German school in the south. This time the city is Valdivia. Almost 3,000m2 in which we were asked to desing a Library, Computer rooms, theatre, administration offices, new caf and covered patio.












It seams that things are happening in the south.
